GLASGOW’S top two riders say it’s make or break time for their Championship play-off chances when they head to Newcastle tonight.
The Tigers have yet to win on the road this season and have just four chances left to do so – with at least two victories away from Ashfield vital if they’re to secure a top-four place.
Aaron Summers has been called in as a guest for Claus Vissing, who’s on Danish duties, while Nathan Greaves is still recovering from his crash nine days ago and misses out.
Craig Cook and Chris Harris will lead the Tigers’ charge – and both admit it’s vital to take at least three points.
Cook said: “I’ll be booting the boys up the backside for the meeting.
“It’s a must-win. I’m very passionate for this club to get into the play-offs.
“I know how passionate the Glasgow fans, management, and everyone around the club is – they’re so professional. I really got an eye-opener coming here last week.
“It’s absolutely fantastic and I’ve never been a part of something so professional, so it’s a must-win for us because they’re putting a lot of effort in. I want to make it through to the play-offs and give us a chance of winning them.”
Harris – who top scored in last week’s heavy defeat to Berwick – said: “We’ve got to win this – it’s like our cup final.
“I’ll hopefully see today what the reaction is to last week’s defeat at Berwick. It’s going to be a tough one with losing Nathan and having to use rider replacement there, but it’s time for us to all stand up now and put that extra effort in, especially after the Berwick performance.”
The meeting starts at 6.30pm.
