TEENAGE hotshot Jack Parkinson-Blackburn has been named as Glasgow’s seventh and final rider for 2018.
The 17-year-old joins on a two-point average, meaning he’ll start as the club’s No 7 for the new campaign.
Parkinson-Blackburn is tipped for big things for the sport but is yet to complete a full season at Championship level.
He started 2017 with Sheffield, dropping out during the year in order to focus on his National League commitments with Birmingham.
However, he’s ready to take on the challenge of racing in British speedway’s second tier again and will partner fellow Yorkshireman James Sarjeant at reserve.
Parkinson-Blackburn started his professional speedway career in 2015 with Buxton before joining the Brummies and the Yorkshire Tigers.
Despite his young age, he’s already racked up personal titles including the British 500cc Youth Championship and was a National League winner in 2016.
Reaction to follow.
The 2018 Tigers team comes in at 42.5 points on the dot and will line up as follows (in order of averages): Richie Worrall 8.52, Chris Harris 8.44, Claus Vissing 6.80, Lewis Kerr 6.78, Paul Starke 6.63, James Sarjeant 3.33, Jack Parkinson-Blackburn 2.
